Open Photoshop and create a new project. For the purposes of this tutorial, I created mine at 300 x 150 pixels. The background can be any color or transparent as we are going to fill it with a particular color later.
Once you have your new file created, set the foreground color. I chose a warm brown (#603913) from my swatches palette.
Click the paintbucket tool, then fill your background.
Click the Text tool. For this tutorial, I used Edwardian Script as my font, 72pt, strong. Change your foreground color to white or black, it doesn't matter as we will set the color in the layer blending options.
Type the words you want to turn into gold text. Now click the move tool and set the text where you want it. Click the "Add Layer Style" button, then "blending options". Set the settings to the following for Drop Shadow, Bevel and Emboss, and Color Overlay.

Now click "New Style" and give it a name, ex: My Gold Text. Check both boxes, "Include Layer Effects" and Include Layer Blending Options" and click Ok.
Save your new text for the web or as a psd file. That's it!
Your text should look similar to mine here:

For future use, you now have a new style that you can use over and over for your gold text. Simply create a new file, type your text, go to your styles pallette and find your style you created. Click that style button and you have gold text! A great time saver and it ensures consistency in your gold text.
